71 career games, 940 points and 461 rebounds. The impact that senior Jace Linenberger had Hays High basketball will be marked in the record books for years to come.
Linenberger finished 5th all time in points and 8th in rebounding. He became the sixth player in school history to tally 900 or more points and 400 or more rebounds, joining Bill Giles (1977), Roger Casey (1980), Justin Johnson (1990), Matt Stramel (2006) and Brady Werth (2015).
Tuesday he made his college choice official by signing a letter of intent to play for University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. The NCAA Division II Lions finished 14-13 this past season and play in the Lone Star Conference.
Jace Linenberger
Linenberger was part of a three year run that resulted in two 5A state basketball tournament appearances and a sub-state runner up finish. The 2020 season was cut short due to COVID, the Indians are left as one of the "Forever Four" teams that would have played in the semifinals. Hays hosted and lost the first round of state in a modified tournament in 2021. The Indians lost to eventual state champions Topeka Seaman in the sub-state championship game on their home floor to end 2022.

Linenberger shot 60% from the field as a sophomore, 66% as a junior and 61% his senior season. He also shot 73% from the free throw line over his career, making 215 attempts (100 during his senior campaign.)
