Donna L. Hanken, 79, passed away June 15, 2021, at Diversicare of Larned.

She was born May 9, 1942, in Great Bend to William and Nora Wing Mog.

A lifetime area resident, she was a food service director for both USD 495 and Larned State Hospital. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Larned, where she was a Deacon and member of the Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of Fort Larned Good Sam’s Club, Pawnee County Humane Society, and she enjoyed bowling, softball, tennis, card clubs, friends, and her dogs, Lucky and Gizmo. She volunteered as a 4-H leader, the Red Cross, and with the election board.

On September 31, 1961 she married Erwin Dean Hanken at Larned; he survives.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Missy (Brad) Schmidt, Harrisonville, Missouri, Rhonda (Steve) Molde, Wichita; a sister, Sue Seeman, Larned; five grandchildren: Jessica (Brandon) Gargano, Kristine (Joe) Parkurst, Megan (Jacob) Bathgate, Micaela Molde, and Miranda Molde; five great grandchildren: Sullivan Gargano, Jaxon Parkhurst, Finnegan Parkhurst, Bristol Bathgate, and Beau Bathgate.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Bill Stapleton presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be in Larned Cemetery at a later date.
