Quilts of Valor gifted to five Hays military veterans at VFW

The Golden Plains Quilts of Valor group awarded Quilts of Valor to five veterans in Hays recently at the VFW, 2106 Vine.

United States Army veteran Petty Officer Second Class Marion Miller was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on September 18 at the VFW in Hays. Miller served from 1969 to 1975. The quilt top was made by Edie McQuade with quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.

United States Army veteran Sergeant Billy Peterson was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on September 18 at the VFW in Hays. Peterson served from 1969 to 1970. The quilt top was made by Linda Shull with quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.

United States Army veteran Specialist David Schneider was awarded a Quilt of Valor from Golden Plains Quilts of Valor on September 18 at the VFW in Hays. Schneider served from 1970 to 1972. The quilt top was made by Phyllis Manhart with quilting by Amy Schartz Mellor.
