THOMAS COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 8a.m. Saturday in Thomas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Ford Focus driven by Kendy S. Rubio-Gomez, 24, Selden, was eastbound on US highway 24 eleven miles east of Colby.
The car crossed westbound traffic, traveled off the roadway to the left entered into north ditch, struck a field road, went airborne the rolled and the driver was ejected. The car came to rest on the passengers side in a corn field.
EMS transported Rubio-Gomez to Citizen's Medical Center. The safety restraint was not worn properly, according to the KHP. She was only using the lap belt.
