NATOMA — The Natoma Lions Club presented Shawna Dunlap "Natoma’s Good Citizen of the Year" award during the evening Labor Day Celebration, September 4.

The Lions members nominated her for providing a positive performance within the community by exceeding expectations in a myriad of tasks. Through serving the community, county, and state, she exemplifies the American spirit in volunteering for difficult assignments; helping others meet goals or overcome obstacles; displaying “contagious enthusiasm”; encouraging people in stressful situations.

Dunlap continues to meet requests with a positive “yes” in accepting additional responsibilities while going “above and beyond” the expected performance in completing a project.  Her calm composure under pressure in resolving conflicts continues to mend relationships.

She has served for decades in the Natoma Community including Natoma Peace Lutheran Church, Natoma-Paradise-Waldo Unified School District 399 secretary and nurse, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 109 officer, Lions Club officer, and Osborne County EMS.

Her husband is Natoma Mayor Rick Dunlap. They have three children and three grandchildren.
