The Hays school board will discuss the Hays Middle School mascot at its meeting at 6:30 tonight at the Rockwell Administration Center.

The district is constructing a new high school and remodeling the current high school into a middle school as part of a $143.5 million school bond.

<a href="https://hayspost.com/posts/b03de214-a1e1-44df-8ea5-f597e5e62646">After a lengthy and contentious debate, the district decided to keep the Indians as its mascot for Hays High School.</a>

During that discussion, some residents suggested the middle school should also have the Indians as its mascot.

The middle school's current mascot is the Falcons.

The board will also consider a <a href="https://hayspost.com/posts/eeb37c70-d05e-427e-bdb6-b673010bd8af">Neighborhood Revitalization Resolution</a> and adding two student support specialist positions.
