EMPORIA - Lebo's Brook Hadley only scored three points in Tuesday's 1A Division II state quarterfinal game, but they may have been the most important points of the game. His 3-pointer following an offensive rebound of a missed free throw pushed the Wolves one point lead late in the fourth quarter to four and they went on to bear Victoria 46-40 at White Auditorium.
The Knights (17-10) led 16-15 at halftime and only trailed by one (32-31) entering the fourth quarter but they struggled in the final frame, making only two of their 10 shots. They finished the game 2-for-16 from beyond the arc and had seven of their 19 turnovers in the fourth quarter.
Sophomore Nick Sander led the Knights with 15 points and six rebounds. Junior Westen Scherrer added 12 points.
Lebo (20-7) was led by sophomore Gerek Reber and freshman Eli Konrade who both scored 10. The Wolves extended their winning streak to 12 games. The Wolves advance to Thursday's semifinals also in Emporia.
