Karen Joan Anderson, 74, of McPherson, KS, formerly of Scottsdale, AZ and Lindsborg, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS.
On April 30, 2021, she retired from Walters Optometry where she was the office manager.
Karen was born on February 14, 1948, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Leon and Ruth Josephine (Clark) Jantz. She graduated from Galva High School and was May Day Queen.
On December 17, 1971, Karen was united in marriage to Loren “Andy” L. Anderson in Miami, OK. They were married for 50 years before his passing on December 21, 2021.
Survivors include: three sons, Kevin Anderson (Lori) of McPherson, KS, Keith Anderson of St. George, UT, and Tony Adams (Angie) of Hays, KS; a brother, Gary Jantz (Debbe) of Newton, KS; six grandchildren, Colton Anderson (Parker), Tyson Anderson (Nicole), Aaron Anderson (Rachel), Travis Anderson (Rhoni), Colton Adams, and Dakota Adams; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Merlyn Jantz, and sister Myreta Koehn.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m., Friday, September 9, 2022, at Countryside Covenant Church with Pastor Jon Black officiating. A private family graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, September 9, at New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery.
