Hays Police Department
The Hays Police Department Special Situation Response Team will conduct training in open field searches in coordination with other area agencies between 1 and 7 p.m. today.
This training will take place southeast of Hays in the area near Custer Island Park and Bison Road.
Police officers will be training with special tactical equipment. This training is being done with great care and safety.
As a property owner or traveler in that area, you may see law enforcement officers move through your vicinity. There is no need to be alarmed. The officers are merely conducting a realistic training exercise and there is no danger to the community.
