Fort Hays State Men's Basketball begins a three-game road trip through the state of Oklahoma on Wednesday (Feb. 10) at Central Oklahoma. The teams are playing a make-up game from this contest's original scheduled date of January 2. It just so happens that FHSU will be playing UCO back-to-back games after just defeating UCO in a nail biter in Hays this past Saturday in the first of the two meetings.

See Visiting Team Ticket Policy (PDF) if you have plans to attend the game.

Tipoff time of the game on Wednesday will be at 3:30 pm in the afternoon, which is a rare time for a weekday contest. The earlier start time helps FHSU get to its next destination in Oklahoma, Rogers State, where it will play on Thursday night at 7:30 pm. There is only a men's contest on Wednesday at Central Oklahoma since the FHSU and UCO women have already completed their two-game series home and away this season. The Tiger men will wrap the three-game trip in Oklahoma on Saturday when it plays at Northeastern State.

The Tigers enter Wednesday on a three-game win streak, all accomplished at home with wins over Nebraska-Kearney, Newman, and Central Oklahoma. The Tigers have won two road games so far this year (at Newman and Missouri Southern), both in overtime. The meeting with Central Oklahoma in Edmond last year went to overtime, but UCO claimed that meeting 80-73. However, with the win this past Saturday in Hays, FHSU has won five of the last six meetings with UCO.

Jared Vitztum nears a milestone on Wednesday as he is only nine points shy of 1,000 for his career at FHSU. He looks to become the 22nd player in men's program history to reach the mark. The last to reach the milestone was Brady Werth, a native of Hays just like Vitztum, in 2019. Vitztum averages 18.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game and has eight double-doubles on the season to lead NCAA Division II.

Quinten Rock led the Tigers in scoring against Central Oklahoma in the meeting in Hays this past Saturday. He had 23 points, going 8-of-14 from the field with five 3-point field goals. He was also 2-of-2 at the free-throw line. Vitztum and Alvin Thompson each had 13 points, while Jordan Pumphrey and Kaleb Hammeke each had 11 to put five FHSU players in double figures.

Isaiah Wade tallied 25 points and 10 rebounds against the Tigers in Saturday's meeting. Callen Haydon was the only other Broncho to reach double figures in scoring with 19.
