In the month of February, HaysMed reported a total of 52 COVID-19 inpatient admissions. Twenty-four of the 52 were Ellis County residents, and 29 of 52 were not fully vaccinated.
The average age of inpatients was 65, with 58 percent of those male patients and 42 percent female.
HaysMed reported seven coronavirus-related deaths in February, at an average age of 76.
“Fully Vaccinated” is someone who has received two doses of the mRNA vaccines or one shot of the J/J vaccine. Booster shots are not included in the definition.
