Rudolph 'Rudy' Augustine Jr., age 86 of Hill City, Kansas passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 in Hill City. He was born April 1, 1939 in Ellis County, Kansas to Rudolph Sr. and Regina (Reitmayer) Augustine. He graduated from Ellis High School in 1958.
Rudy was a retired heavy Equipment Operator starting for Trego County and then moving on to and retiring with the Graham County Road and Bridge department. Rudy served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. In his retirement he enjoyed his coffee time with friends, often meeting twice a day. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hill City.
Survivors include his daughter, Roxanne Zane of Wichita; brothers, Gilbert Augustine, Virgil (Ann) Augustine of Ellis, Richard (Dorothy), Arnold (Marilyn) of Hays and Darrell of Olathe; a sister, Irene Normandin of Olathe and a granddaughter, Angela Zinn and her children, Logan and Nolan Zinn.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Augustine; sisters, Betty J. (Robert) Weber, Shirley (Don) Leikam; sister-in-law, Janet Augustine and a brother-in-law, Louis Normandin.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and Friday 9:00 AM until service time all at the church.
A combined parish vigil and rosary will be 7:00 PM Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hill City, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis or for Masses.
