Stacy Carl Olson II

Stacy Carl Olson II, 71, passed away January 31, 2021, at The University of Kansas Health System HaysMed Campus, Hays, KS.

He was born October 21, 1949, in Dodge City, the son of Carl W. and Velma C. Anderson Olson.  A lifetime area resident, he was a banker and financial advisor at Farmers State Bank, Jetmore, where he served as past president as well as the board.

He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lions Club member since 1973, serving in all capacities, was the Jetmore Mayor for sixteen years, Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader, Cemetery Board, Sons Of The American Legion and was one of the first EMT and EMT I’s for Hodgeman County. Stacy graduated from Hodgeman County High School in 1968, Fort Hays State University, with a BS in business in 1974 and The University of Colorado, School of Banking in 1977.  Stacy loved to play slow-pitch and he even had a team when he was in college.  He also enjoyed meeting with friends in the morning at the local coffee shop and visiting.  Stacy supported all the activities his children and grandchildren participated in and enjoyed watching them succeed. He loved his family and his family loved him.

On June 1, 1974, he married Marla F. Tracy in Phillipsburg, Ks.  She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Derek (Katie) Olson, Jetmore; two daughters, Carla Lowry and Connie Olson, both of Jetmore; five grandchildren, Zoe Lowry, Sophie Lowry, Caroline Olson, Shelby Olson and Austin Olson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norman Olson.

Due to covid, a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Fairmount Cemetery with Father John Forkuoh presiding.  Service will be viewable via Facebook live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.  Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
