It was a clean sweep for Hays High in the Western Athletic Conference football Players and Coach of the Year Awards. Junior quarterback Jordan Dale is the Offensive Player of the Year, senior defensive end Gavin Haselhorst grabbed the defensive honor and Indian coach Tony Crough is the Coach of the Year after guiding Hays to the WAC title.
Dale passed for 472 yards and rushed for 482 and was tied for the WAC lead with seven rushing touchdowns.
Haselhorst led the WAC with 32 tackles for loss, 19 more than teammate Gavin Meyers and had a conference high six quarterback sacks. The Kansas State signee also caused a conference leading four fumbles.
