
Bernice Arline (Brown) Lindburg, 77, of Parkville, MO, passed away at Northcare Hospice House on Friday, April 2, 2021.
Bernice was born on May 8, 1943 in Hays, KS to Loid and Beulah
(Burnett) Brown. She graduated in 1961 from Melvern High School. Shortly
after graduation, Bernice was united in marriage with Larry Alan
Lindburg on June 18, 1961, in Melvern, KS. This year would have marked 60
years together.
After finishing his basic training, Larry was stationed to Japan
with the US Airforce. During this time, Bernice remained in Melvern with
other family members and their young daughter, Arline. Upon his return
to the US, the family moved to the KC Metro area where they remained,
having two more children, sons, Larry and Brian. They moved into the
current family home in 1977. Bernice enjoyed gardening and spending time
with her family. Many card games were played together around the
kitchen table. When Arline’s family was living in Europe, Bernice
greatly enjoyed visiting them and traveling together, seeing the sights
of several countries.
Preceding Bernice in death are her parents, Loid and Beulah Brown; and one son-in-law, Dennis Henderson.
Her loving memory lives on in the hearts of her husband, Larry A.
Lindburg; daughter, Arline Henderson of Kearney, MO; two sons, Larry
Lindburg, Jr. of Kansas City, MO and Brian Lindburg of Riverside, MO;
sisters, Helen Bartlett of Waverly, KS, Deloris Beck, Leala Bungart,
both of Topeka, KS, and Carol Hardin of Sunrise Beach, MO; one brother,
Lloyd Brown of Scranton, KS; 5 grandchildren, Josh, Clarissa, Jacob,
Nick, and Adam; and 2 great-grandchildren, Payton and Zach.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 10, at VanArsdale Funeral
Chapel. Visitation hours will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with the
funeral service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may
be made out to the Parkinson’s Foundation c/o VanArsdale Funeral
Chapel, 107 N. 6th, Osage City, KS 66523.
