Large grassfire in area of Sweetwater Ranch in northeast Ellis County

The Ellis County Sheriff has reported a large grass fire in the area of the Sweetwater Ranch.

The public is advised to avoid the area southeast of Codell.

Roads in that area are closed as firefighters fight the blaze.
