The Kansas Department of Transportation has started a bridge repair project on Toulon Ave over I-70 in Ellis County, four miles east of Hays near exit 163.

Project work will include deck patching, substructure and surface repair, dripline repair and waterproofing. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone and directed by temporary traffic signals. An 11-foot width restriction will also be in place during construction. Motorists should plan for minor delays, not exceeding 10 minutes.

PCI Roads LLC, of St. Michael, Minnesota, is the primary contractor for the $579,754.79 project. Weather permitting, it is expected to be complete by early October.

For more information on this project, contact Cale Brown, Area Engineer, at (785) 261-6132, or Lisa Mussman, Northwest Public Information Officer, at (785) 601-6005.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit KanDrive.gov or call 511. For updates on highway projects in northwest Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/NorthwestNews.
