👟 Seven provisionals, four winners for Tigers at ESU Relays

EMPORIA, Kan. - The Fort Hays State track and field teams posted seven NCAA DII provisional qualifying marks and captured four event titles Saturday on the final day of the ESU Relays. The men were third out of 29 schools with 75 points in the team race, while the women placed fourth out of 25 programs with 61.5 points.

After posting a provisional mark in the 200m dash on Friday, Lyric Holman picked up her second of the weekend with a victory in the 100m race thanks to a time of 11.80. The other first-place finish for the women's team came in the javelin, with Addie Berens placing first with a career-best heave of 153-6. She moved up one spot to seventh on the FHSU DII era performance chart in the process. Rhyann Brown finished just behind her teammate, finishing second with a provisional toss of 150-8.

Alexandra Hart cleared a provisional height of 5-6 in the high jump, placing second. Elsewhere in the field events, Taylor Linn finished seventh in the pole vault with a top clearance of 11-3.75.

Gretchen Kuffel finished seventh in the 1,500m run after crossing the line in 4:41.44, moving to fourth on the DII era performance chart. Chloe Stanley earned a fifth-place finish in the 400m hurdles after completing the race in 1:06.56.

On the men's side, Grant Bradley finished first out of 104 competitors in the 1,500m run with a time of 3:54.93, moving up one spot to eighth on the FHSU DII era performance chart. Fresh off an All-American performance indoors, Jacob Clark won the pole vault with a provisional clearance of 16-4.75.

David Enns also had a provisional mark in the field with a toss of 202-9 in the javelin, good for third place. Philip Landrum picked up the final provisional performance for the men, running the 100m dash in 10.48 to finish third.

Xavier Robinson also placed third in the long jump, clearing an outdoor PR of 23-9, just one inch off the provisional distance. Loren Faurot was another third-place finisher for the Tigers after a clearance of 15-5 in the pole vault.

The 4x800m relay team of Kaden WrenEthan LangTrever Medina and Aaron Mangan combined to finish second with a time of 7:42.60.

The Tigers are scheduled to return to competition next Saturday (April 2) at the Central Nebraska Challenge in Kearney, Neb. beginning at 11 a.m.
