Winifred Eugene 'Gene' Beatty

Winifred Eugene “Gene” Beatty, 80, passed away January 27, 2021 at his home in Gig Harbor, Washington.

He was born October 19, 1940 in Greensburg, Kansas, the son of John Henry Curtis Stillwell and Grace Marie Smith Beatty.

Gene was an OTR Truck Driver for many years until he was forced to retire to take care of his lovely bride. Once she passed, he started traveling and was able to see his children statewide as well as going overseas to live and see Europe and Korea.

On October 27, 1963 he married Ruth Junell at Houston, Texas; she preceded him in death.

Survivors include: a daughter, Anne (Li) Parshall, Gig Harbor, Washington; four sons, Carl (Yeongjew) Beatty, Kaiserslautern, Germany, David (Donna) Beatty, St. John, Kansas, Mark Beatty, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Paul (Marti) Beatty, East Liverpool, Ohio; a sister, Francis Poyner, Berryville, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, fourteen brothers and sisters, and a granddaughter, Ashley Kristine Beatty.

Cremation has taken place and a private inurnment will be at a later date in Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore, Kansas.
