County Clerk/Election Official Bobbi Dreiling wants to inform Ellis County citizens about key dates and deadlines for the upcoming city/school election to be held November 4, 2025..

Positions on the Ballot:

· School Board

· City Officials (Commissioners, Council Members, Mayors, and Treasurer)

· Extension District

· Improvement Districts

Candidate Filing Information

To be a candidate for any of these positions, candidates must submit candidacy paperwork to the County Clerk’s office. The filing fee is $20 per position. The deadline to file is June 2 at noon. Forms are available at the County Clerk’s office at 718 Main Street or online at www.ellisco.net under the Elections tab.

A primary election will be held if more than three times the number of candidates file for a position.

Voter ID Requirements

To vote, you must present a valid photo ID. If you lack an approved government-issued photo ID or have an expired driver’s license, you can apply for a free nondriver identification card through the Kansas Division of Motor Vehicles. To obtain the free ID, complete the Certification Requesting Fee Waiver for Nondriver Identification Card (Form DE-VID1). This form is available at driver’s license offices, county election offices, and online. An expired driver’s license is acceptable for voters aged 65 and older. For those 64 and younger, the driver’s license must be current.

Key Dates to Remember

· June 2 at noon – Filing deadline for candidates

· October 14 – Voter registration deadline

· October 15 - Advance Mail ballots get mailed

· October 20 – First day of Advance Voting

· November 3 at noon - Last day to advance vote

· November 4 - Election Day
