A warm front moving into northwest Kansas will bring extremely warm temperatures accompanied by high winds beginning Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for most of northwest Kansas beginning at noon Tuesday and extending into Tuesday evening.
After an expected high of 69 on Monday, the mercury will jump to nearly 90 degrees Tuesday. Winds Tuesday are expected to be sustained at 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 65 mph possible.
Blowing dust is also possible as the humidity is expected to remain extremely low. The risk of fire is heightened, the NWS said, noting any fires that start could lead to wildfire conditions.
