Marianne Eloise Porter, age 77, passed away on September 15, 2022, at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kansas. She was born on June 5, 1945, to Burdett and Gladys Marie (Griffith) Patton. She was a resident of the community since 1966 having moved here from Scott City, Kansas. She was a Telephone operator, CNA for 10 years, and a small business owner.
On July 4, 1965, Marianne married her husband, Roger Porter at a ceremony at her Grandmother's house in Scott City, Kansas. He survives.
Marianne loved the outdoors. She loved to fish and play in the garden. She was a multigenerational mother, sharing her wisdom with generations of her family.
Marianne is survived by her husband, her sons Robert Porter & Malinda Kent of Holyoke, Colorado, Todd & Mary Beth Porter of Leoti, Kansas, Brent & Janee Porter of Leoti, Kansas, Jaiden Porter of Leoti, Kansas, and her daughter McKenzie Porter of Leoti, Kansas, six grandchildren: April Burrel, Nathan & Amber Porter, Bryer & Stacy Porter, Tristen Porter, Jentri Porter, Beau Porter, five great-grandchildren: Christian Burrel, Barrett Porter, Gatlin Porter, Maverick Porter, Caryson Porter, and her brother, Duane & Sharron Patton of Scott City, Kansas.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Burdett and Gladys Marie Patton, her in-laws, Alfred Clinton (Bill) and Gertrude Myrtle (Betty) Porter, her brother Dennis Porter, and her great grandson Brandon LaMaster.
Graveside Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at the Wichita County Cemetery with pastor Chuck Mclaughlin presiding.
Memorials may be given to the Marianne Porter Nursing Scholarship fund which will be given yearly to a Wichita County student, in care of Price and Sons funeral home, PO Box 161, Leoti, Kansas 67861.
