5 hospitalized after I-70 rear-end crash

RUSSELL COUNTY —Five people were injured in an accident just after midnight Saturday in Russell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Chevy Tahoe driven by Kyle R. Stephens, 60, Parker, Colorado, was westbound on Interstate 70 just west of the Wilson, Lucas exit.

The SUV rear-ended a 2016 Nissan  Pathfinder driven by Noble R. Haskell, 16, Centennial, Colorado.

EMS transported Haskell to Via Christie.

EMS transported Stephens and a passenger in the Pathfinder Dylan C. Harmon, 17, Centennial, Colorado, to Hays Medical Center.  There were two others in the Pathfinder identified as Marco F. Canas Munoz, 18 and Daniel A. Bechle, 17, both of Aurora, Colorado.

Canas Munoz was transported to Salina Regional Medical Center. Bechele was transported Russell Regional Hospital. The passengers in the Pathfinder were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
