
Linda Lee Sekavec, age 76, died on August 18, 2026, at the Ogallala Community Hospital, Ogallala, Nebraska. Linda was born on December 1, 1949, in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of Robert and Gloria (Edwards) Kimbell.
Linda was a 1968 graduate of Battleground high school in Battleground, WA and then attended cosmetology school. On February 25th, 1984, she married Thomas Lee Sekavec in Bellevue, WA. Linda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hays Ward. She worked as a beautician and spent many years as a homemaker, raising six children. She later worked at Hays Medical Center as a Health Unit Coordinator. Linda loved to cook from scratch, always creating and trying new recipes, and even wrote her own cookbook. After retirement, she spent many of her summers traveling to visit family and enjoying the beautiful Oregon coast.
Linda is survived by her daughter Carrie Fischer of Nashville, TN; her 5 sons, Joshua Norris of Fortson, GA, Cenek Sekavec of Hutchinson, KS, George Sekavec (Kimberly) of Burns, OR, David Sekavec (Cortney) of Hutchinson and Joseph Sekavec (Abby) of Hutchinson; her sister, Peggy Moore (John) of Vancouver, WA; Her brother Robert Kimbell (Barbara) of Boise, ID;15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas; son, Carl Sekavec; grandson, Matthew Sekavec, granddaughter, Harper Sekavec; and her brother, John Kimbell.
Funeral service will be held at the Brownell Cemetery on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hays, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hays Ward, in care of Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City.
