HAYS - Sean Keenen hit a two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Hays Larks to a 4-2 win over the Fort Collins Foxes on Saturday night at Larks Park, completing a two-game series sweep.
With the game tied 2-2, Keenen launched his sixth home run of the season to right field. His team-leading 33rd RBI gave the Larks the lead for good.
Hays (22-4, 16-4 RMBL) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on Tanner Norman’s RBI single to left and a double play that scored another run.
Fort Collins (19-11, 8-8 RMBL) scored single runs in the sixth and eighth innings to tie the game before Keenen’s go-ahead homer.
Hunter Cowgill (2-0) earned the win, allowing one run on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk over two innings of relief. Jaxon Ramos pitched a scoreless ninth for his fourth save of the season.

The Larks travel to Liberal for a three-game series against the Bee Jays beginning Monday at Brent Gould Field. Monday’s opener is a nonleague game.
