COLBY — The Colby Community College Endowment Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the Adrian Family Memorial Scholarship, a $250,000 fund generously established by Gary Adrian.
A ceremony to commemorate the gift will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, in the Robert Burnett Student Union Multipurpose Room on campus.
The scholarship honors the Adrian family’s longstanding connection to Thomas County. Gary Adrian’s great-grandparents were among the first settlers in the area, arriving in 1885. The family has since remained deeply rooted in the community and committed to supporting future generations.
"Colby Community College is truly humbled and moved by Mr. Adrian’s generosity," said President Dr. Seth Carter. "Mr. Adrian has always been the ultimate ambassador for Colby, Kansas, and his impact in the community will continue to help the area prosper.”
The Adrian Family Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to a freshman or sophomore student who is a graduate of Colby High School and resides in Thomas County. Recipients must also demonstrate financial need.
