Lonnie F. Morgan, age 73, of Hays, KS passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at HaysMed – Hays.
He was born July 31, 1947 in La Crosse, KS to Friend E. and Velma (Scheuerman) Morgan. He grew up in Alexander, KS and graduated from Alexander High School in 1965 then attended Hutch Junior College on a basketball scholarship.
Lonnie’s hobbies included spending time with his sons and grandkids, together with hunting, fishing, golfing, playing softball and bowling.
He owned and operated Morgan Appliance Service. He organized bus trips to Grand Island, NE for horse races for 36 years.
Lonnie met and married Therese M. Klaus on May 8, 1982 in Hays, KS.
He is survived by his wife, Therese. Sons: Steven (Jolene) Morgan of LaCrosse; Heath (Michelle) Morgan of Lacrosse; Brothers: Larry Morgan of Alexander; Lance ‘Bub’ (Gloria) Morgan of Alexander; Layne (Kerri) Morgan of McCracken; Sisters: Leanne (Wade) Russell of St. John; Lorrie (Bill) Frank of Axtell; grandchildren: Taylor, Hunter, and Madison, together with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws: George and Eileen Klaus; Sisters: Linda (Robert) Bott, and LaRetta Fitzwater.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 10 AM at Brock’s Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Street, Hays, KS 67601. Visitations will be Monday, October 5, 2020 from 5 PM to 7 PM and Tuesday from 9 AM to service time all at the Funeral Chapel.
Interment will be Tuesday at 2 PM in the Alexander Cemetery.
