MANHEIM, Pa. - The Fort Hays State men's wrestling team will open the 2023-24 season ranked 25th according to the preseason NWCA Division II Coaches Poll, released Monday by the coaches association. The Tigers have one ranked individual, with returning All-American Tereus Henry slotted third at 197 pounds.

Henry returns for his junior season after placing third at 197 pounds at the 2023 NCAA Division II National Championships. Seven of last year's eight All-Americans at 197 pounds are ranked in the preseason poll this season, including each of the top six placers.

Four of the six schools that sponsor wrestling in the MIAA are mentioned in the poll, including defending national champion Central Oklahoma in third, Nebraska-Kearney in 18th and Central Missouri, who is receiving votes. UCO and UNK each have five wrestlers ranked in their respective weight classes, while UCM has two individuals listed. Lander tops the poll, with eight individuals ranked.

Fort Hays State kicks off its 2023-24 season with a pair of duals against New Mexico Highlands (4 p.m., 3 p.m. MT) and at Northern Colorado (6 p.m., 5 p.m. MT) Friday (Nov. 3) in Greeley, Colo.
