
Gordon V. Shadle passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Rooks
County Health Center in Plainville, Kansas, at the age of 76. He was
born on April 2, 1944 in Mount Vernon, Washington to Paul and Ruth
Shadle.
Gordon was united in marriage to Maryanne Ottley on March 30,
1967 and to this union 4 children were born: Danny, Paul, Lisa, and
Bobby.
Gordon grew up around Bow, Washington. He graduated high school in
Washington in 1964 and then enlisted in the United States Army. He
served faithfully for 4 years until he was honorably discharged. Gordon
moved around Kansas as a ranch hand before he found a home in Colby,
Kansas where he worked for over 20 years as a state grain inspector. He
loved to spend time outdoors, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his children, Danny Shadle of Conway, AR, Paul
(Arloah) Shadle of Plainville, KS, Lisa Shadle of Lincoln, NE, and Bobby
Shadle of Colby, KS; three grandchildren, Myke (Lee) Lyles, Sean
Shadle, and Audri Shadle; and one great-grandson, Roman Lyles.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Shadle and several brothers and sisters.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Service on
Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the American Legion in Colby, Kansas from
1 PM until 4 PM.
