Iris Ann Hahn

Iris Ann Foster was born April 3, 1936, on the family farm in Osborne, Kansas. She was the fourth of six children of Francis and Matilda (Hageman) Foster. She was raised in Osborne, Kansas and graduated from Osborne High School in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart, Clifford Hahn, on May 7, 1955. Clifford and Iris had four children: Cynthia, Kirk, Sheila, and Kraig.

Iris was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and taking care of others. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. Iris enjoyed playing cards, dominos and watching her beloved Kansas City Royals. She always looked forward to sharing a cup of coffee with her local friends. Most of all, Iris enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews sporting events. Iris was a member of the St. Aloysius Church in Osborne where she served as a member of the Altar Society.

Iris is survived by her daughter Sheila Ruble (Monty Miller) of Hill City, SD; son, Kraig (Jamie) of Manhattan; an accepted son, Rick Pruden (Joanna) of Poulsbo, WA; two sisters Imogene Thornburg, Alton, and Sandy Hudson of Osborne. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and nine-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Karen and Merna Foster and Anita Hahn, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and extended family members.

On March 24, 2022, in Manhattan, KS, Iris succumbed to her long courageous battle. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifford, daughter Cynthia Nelson, son Kirk Hahn, grandson Aaron Nelson; sons-in-law Gerald Nelson and Kirt Ruble; brothers Farrel and Raymond Foster; sister Ilah Joy; brothers-in-law Eugene Thornburg, Jason Hudson, and Howard Hahn; sister-in-law Blanche Hahn.
