Jason Scott Clapham, 41, passed away April 16, 2021, at his home in Burdett.

He was born June 27, 1979, in Great Bend, the son of David E. and Cathreen “Cathi” A. Rainbolt Clapham.

Growing up in Larned, he was a graduate of the Pawnee Heights High School class of 1998. He later moved to Texas where he graduated from Christ for the Nations Institute (CFNI) and also graduated with honors from Universal Technical Institute (UTI) with an associate degree in Automotive Technology. Returning to Burdett in 2016, he was a mechanic for Schwartz Auto Service in Jetmore. He was of the Christian faith, and enjoyed building model cars, watching Nascar, and shooting guns.

On March 10, 2007, he married Sarah A. Darby in Cedar Hill, Texas; they later divorced.

Survivors include: his parents, David and Cathi Clapham, Burdett; three sons, David Eric Clapham, Huntsville, Texas, Christian Matthew Clapham, Burdett; Joshua, Nathaniel Clapham, Jetmore; a daughter, Katherine Ann Clapham, Jetmore; two brothers, Christopher David Clapham, Kansas City, Missouri, Aaron Phillip Clapham, Burdett; two sisters, Andrea (David) Ramirez, Shawnee, Sara Renea (Micheal Miller) Clapham, Emporia; and fiancé, Summer Leiby, Jetmore.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Mark Slattery presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, with family present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Cremation will follow the service and a private family inurnment will be at a later date in the Larned Cemetery.
