Last week, the Oiler Cheerleaders and Hays High cheerleaders hosted a fun-packed cheerleading camp.
The HHS cheerleaders taught cheers, chants, stunting techniques and jumps.
The Hays High cheerleading squad consists of 26 cheerleaders coached by MacKenzie James, Carli Nunnery and Olivia Justice. The HHS cheer squad attended NCA Camp earlier this summer and received a superior rating, the highest rating in every category. Along with this, the HHS squad placed first in Top Team Chant while at camp.

The Hays Oiler cheerleading squad consists of 22 cheerleaders coached by Jenny Linenberger and Holly Linenberger. They cheer for the Hays Oilers Football Association.
The Oilers squad will be participating in the Hays High School homecoming parade and the Fort Hays State University homecoming parade. Along with this, the Oiler cheerleading squad will be performing at the last FHSU home football game this year on Nov. 5 during halftime, and at the Downtown Hays Tree Lighting on Nov. 26.
During the HHS and Oilers camp, the cheerleaders played games, formed a closer team bond, expanded cheer knowledge, ate lunch and shared routines, cheers, and chants. At the conclusion of the camp, the cheerleaders had a refreshing water balloon fight, drew for prizes and ate sweet treats.

The Oiler cheerleaders and coaches thank the amazing Hays High cheerleaders and coaches for this wonderful collaboration.
“I look forward to ongoing collaborations in the future. MacKenzie is such a kind, professional and passionate coach," Jenny Linenberger said. "It is an honor to collaborate with such a compatible coach and superb team. The Hays High cheerleading squad is truly extraordinary, strong, confident and superior. Go Indians"
