Albertine 'Tina' Geist-Braun

Albertine “Tina” Geist-Braun, age 82, died Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.

She was born January 4, 1940, in Victoria, Kansas, to Adam J. and Clementina (Rohr) Braun. Tina married William F. Geist Sr. on January 10, 1959, at Victoria.  He preceded her in death on November 16, 1980.  She then married Pete Braun Jr. on November 27, 2010. 

She was office manager and bookkeeper for Schmidtberger Construction for over 25 years.  In her early years she was a day care provider in Victoria for a number of years, and was a meat cutter for P & B Packers in Hays.  She and her husband owned and operated Bill & Tina’s Standard Service Station in Victoria for ten years, and she was the manager and cook at the Chateau Café for a number of years.  Tina, along with her parents and the Braun family maintained and were caretakers of Saint Fidelis Cemetery in Victoria for over 40 years.  She grew up in Victoria, and was 1958 graduate of Victoria High School.  She was a member of The Basilica of St. Fidelis, St. Fidelis Christian Mothers, St. Fidelis Daughters of Isabella, and The Sunflower Polka Club.  Tina enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing, sewing, gardening, playing cards and trips to the casinos.  

Survivors include her husband, Peter Braun Jr., of the home; her children, William ‘Bill” Geist Jr. and wife, Michelle, Victoria, KS; Tom Geist and his wife, Brenda, Victoria; Jane Cline and husband, Craig, Russell; Carol Geist, Hays, KS; her step children, Jeff Braun and wife, Darla, Victoria; Craig Braun and wife, Marcia, Scott City, KS; Chris Braun and wife Shauna, Victoria, KS; Tamara Haberkorn, Littleton, CO; her brother, Alfred “Fritz” Braun and wife, Anita, Victoria, KS; her sisters, Julianna Urban and husband, Paul, Victoria, KS; Charlene Unrein and husband, Frank, Gorham, KS; her sister-in-law, Michell Braun, Hays, KS; her grandchildren, Rachelle Orr (Matt); Eric Cline (Erica); Nathan Geist (Ashley); Casey Geist (Katie); Megan Cline; Tayla Ellis (Brock); her great grandchildren, Kennedy Orr, Kinsley Orr, Ava Cline, and Ellie Cline; her step-grandchildren, Stephanie Harris (Mike); Christina Cline; Dylan Braun; Logan Braun; Morgan Braun; Kendal Braun; Hunter Braun; Madison Griffith (Cooper); Slade Haberkorn, Lauren Haberkorn; her step-great grandchildren, Myranda Harris and Preston Harris. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, her brothers, Alvin Braun and Robert L. Braun; her sister, Rubina Ziegler; and her infant sister, Rose Ann Braun.      

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 31, 2022, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas, with celebrant Father Curtis Carlson OFM Cap.

Burial will be in Saint Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.  

A Christian Mothers and Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:30 P.M. Sunday, followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, all at The Basilica of St. Fidelis.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:45 P.M. Sunday, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Monday, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis.

The family suggests memorials made payable to: The Basilica of St. Fidelis in care of the mortuary.
