Fifteen private donors have joined together to bring a meaningful touch of Christmas to the new Hays Police Department facility, funding signature blue lights around the building’s perimeter and a striking blue bow display.
The centerpiece bow measures approximately 6.6 feet wide and 7.3 feet tall, with ribbon extending across a 62-foot span. Together, the lights and bow represent the community’s appreciation, support, and respect for the officers and staff who serve Hays throughout the year.
The display will be formally dedicated to the Hays Police Department on November 10 at 9 a.m. at the new facility. It will be in place for the suggested Nov. 12 lighting of The Bricks, coinciding with the start of Holiday Open House Weekend.
“We want the Hays Police Department to know we appreciate them now more than ever,” organizer Sarah Cearley-Windholz shared. “Adding a little glow to their new facility during the Christmas season only seems fitting. We hope these blue lights serve as a reminder that their community stands behind them during the holidays and all year long.”
Through the generosity of these 15 donors, the new facility will shine blue for the Christmas season: a heartfelt expression of gratitude for those who work every day to keep the community safe.
