Ellis County Sheriff-Elect Scott J. Braun announce on Thursday that Asher “Chuck” White as the undersheriff for the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.
White currently serves as a detective and will transition to undersheriff on Jan. 11.
White has been with the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office for 30 years serving in a variety of positions. His law enforcement career began in 1990 when he accepted a position as a detention officer until 1993. White was then promoted to deputy sheriff, serving in that capacity from 1993-1996.
While a deputy sheriff, White served on the Ellis Country Drug Enforcement Unit from 1995 to 2014. In 1996, he was promoted to patrol sergeant and served in that position until 1997 when he was promoted to detective.
White has been a staple and a leader within Ellis County. He graduated from Hays High School and then chose to serve our country and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. White is a member of Kiwanis Club and currently serves on the board.
White brings with him experience, integrity and a great work ethic.
