⚽ Pair of Tigers receive GAC Player of the Week honors

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Elias Ovelar Semeniuk and Marcos German of Fort Hays State Men's Soccer were each honors as players of the week in the Great American Conference on Tuesda. Ovelar Semeniuk was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while German was named Defender of the Week. Both players notched five points over two matches last week in Hays.

Ovelar Semeniuk produced a season-high five points in the 4-1 win over Newman. He scored both of his goals just 27 seconds apart. It was a new school record for fastest consecutive goals by the same player, topping the old mark of 1:14 set in 2012. He assisted on the final goal of the match as well. This is the second time he has earned this weekly honor in his career at FHSU.

German notched a goal and an assist in the 4-1 win over Newman. His assist was on the game-tying goal early in the first half and then he capped the scoring in the match the with team's fourth goal of the second half. He played all 90 minutes in the draw with No. 18 ranked Southern Nazarene and scored the game-tying goal in the final minute of the match. It was the second-straight week German earned a weekly honor from the conference office after receiving Offensive Player of the Week honors last week for producing four assists.

The Tiger duo joins Declan Viljoen of Rogers State (Goalkeeper of the Week) as the weekly honorees from the conference office.
