⚽ Pair of Tigers earn weekly men’s soccer honors from GAC

  RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Elias Ovelar Semeniuk and Ben Dixon of Fort Hays State were named GAC/MIAA Men's Soccer Players of the Week on Tuesday. Ovelar Semeniuk was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Dixon was named Goalkeeper of the Week, helping the Tigers to wins in Hays over Ouachita Baptist and Harding.

Ovelar Semeniuk put together a 9-point week with four goals and an assist. He had a pair of goals in each match this past week for FHSU, helping the Tigers to a 6-0 win over Ouachita Baptist with the first and fourth goals of the match. He then scored the second and third goals of the 4-1 win over Harding. He added his lone assist for the week in the 6-0 win against Ouachita Baptist, helping Blake Arndt record his first career hat trick who went on to finish the week with 8 points individually (3 goals, 2 assists).

Dixon yielded only one goal for the week, playing all 180 minutes against Ouachita Baptist and Harding. He had three saves in his clean-sheet win over OBU and then four saves with just one goal allowed against Harding. The result against OBU gave Dixon his second individual shutout of the season.The pair of Tigers join Miguel Torrecillas of Southern Nazarene (Defender of the Week) as the weekly honorees from the conference office.
