She loved being a grandma and had a special saying that she would tell her grandchildren every time it was time to say goodbye: “Love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck,” followed by “Love you to the moon and back.”

Sheryl was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Gove and Trego County Walk-A-Thon for Health, and the Sacred Heart Altar Society.

Sheryl is survived by her husband, Wayne Zimmerman; her sons, Eric (and wife Nicole) Zimmerman of Lititz, PA, and Greg (and wife Kamiel) Zimmerman of Olathe, KS; her six grandchildren: Madison Zimmerman, Maci Zimmerman, Ethan Zimmerman, Owen Zimmerman, Mac Rawie, and Dylan Rawie; her mother, Wilda Kerns; and her brothers, Keith Kerns and Kurt Kerns.
