ELLIS - A cook for the USD 388 Ellis Jr./Sr. High School is in self-quarantine after being in close contact with a person who has COVID-19, according to Corey Burton, superintendent.
Burton issued the following news release this afternoon on social media.

We have been informed that one of our Ellis Jr/Sr High School cooks has been placed on self-quarantine as they have been deemed a close contact of a positive Coronavirus individual.
Per guidelines, this staff member has been directed to self-quarantine until permitted to return.
We are alerting you to this development because we believe that open communication and district health is important.
We are working closely with the Ellis County Health Department (ECHD) to keep our students and staff as safe as possible.
At this time, our students and other employees are not directly affected. If this situation changes, we will alert you ASAP and make the necessary adjustments.
In the meantime, know that USD 388 will continue with our safety and health protocols. These protocols include masks, sanitizing hands, wiping down equipment and other sanitizing processes.
In the interim, if you feel you are showing signs and symptoms of Covid-19, we encourage you to seek medical advice and contact the Ellis County Health Department for more information. They can be reached at (785) 628-9440.
