A fugitive, who was arrested by Hays Police Saturday, is facing new charges.
Thirty-three-year-old Jauwon Allen absconded from community corrections on Friday in Hays.

Allen was on parole from the Kansas Department of Corrections after serving a sentence on charges of kidnapping, robbery, aggravated escape from custody and aggravated battery out of Sedgwick County in 2009 and 2010, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections website.
Allen was paroled to Ellis County on July 24, 2023.
A Department of Corrections warrant for a possible parole violation was issued.
Allen fled from police on Friday, which led to a manhunt in the Hays area into the early hours of Saturday morning.
Allen was wearing an ankle monitor. He used a knife from a Hays construction site to cut off the monitor, Hays Police Chief Don Scheibler said.
Hays police received information indicating Allen had left the area. Police resumed normal patrol and alerted area law enforcement, Scheibler said.
However, Allen called 911 later that evening and threatened to shoot and kill law enforcement officers if they came to his location, Scheibler said. The 911 call allowed police to pinpoint Allen's location within a few homes on Ash Street.
The Special Situation Response Team was called to the scene, and a negotiator made contact with Allen, who was hiding in a garage, Scheibler said.
People were evacuated from homes in the immediate area.
Allen eventually gave himself up to police without further incident at about 2 a.m. Saturday, Scheibler said. No one was injured.
Ellis County Attorney Robert Anderson has filed charges against Allen in Ellis County District Court including unlawful tampering with electronic monitoring equipment; interference with law enforcement, obstructing or resisting; criminal threat; fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer; criminal trespass; and driving with a suspended license.
Although Allen completed multiple programs while in prison, he also had more than 70 disciplinary reports on his record.
Allen was still being held in the Ellis County Jail as of the jail report on Wednesday. Once Allen is sentenced on the Ellis County charges, he will then be transported to a Kansas Department of Corrections facility to have a parole revocation hearing with the parole board, according to a public information officer with the Kansas Department of Corrections.
Both Catholic and public schools in Hays engaged in security measures during the fugitive search.
