Lexus “Lexi” Marie Beedy, age 28, passed peacefully Saturday, April 9, 2022, after fighting stage IV metastatic breast cancer for nine months like a warrior, while maintaining dignity and grace throughout her courageous battle.
Lexi was born to Ric and Lisa Beedy on November 11, 1993, in Hays, Kansas. She moved to Salina in December of 2002 to be cherished and raised by her grandparents, Leon and Theresa Beedy, after her mother succumbed to her own battle with breast cancer. She attended elementary schools in Hays and Salina and graduated from Salina Central High School. Lexi enjoyed dancing with Peggy Simms School of Dance troupe during her school years and playing on her high school tennis team before heading off to college. She was a Gamma Phi Beta sorority member and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Kansas. Lexi’s love of her time at KU ran deep, as did her affection for the wonderful friends she met there.
Lexi had a special affection for young children and enjoyed providing childcare in her spare time while attending school. She also had a keen interest in following lifestyle, fashion, and cosmetology blogs. Her beautiful home and stylish appearance reflected her acquired talents in all of these disciplines. Lexi had an affinity for organization and simplistic order which was reflected in all of her spaces. Her beautiful big smile brightened any room she entered, and she demonstrated her values of kindness and empathy for others in excess.
Lexi had the good fortune to share her life with her fiancé, Nick, the past four years in Overland Park, Kansas. She embraced Nick’s love for adventure, as he took her beyond the Kansas borders, exploring 32 states together. Their love for each other thrived in the good times and their bond strengthened through the challenges of her health crisis. Nick demonstrated his exemplary love, commitment, and strength for Lexi until her last breath.
Lexi is survived by her fiancé, Nick Jones of Overland Park, KS; father, Ric Beedy of Great Bend, KS; brother, Chase Beedy of Hays, KS; sister, Brooke and Andrew Jensen of Wichita, KS; paternal grandparents, Leon and Theresa Beedy of Salina, KS; paternal uncle and aunt, Al and Roxie Eichelberger of Salina, KS; paternal uncles, Travis Beedy and Richard Chapelle of Olathe, KS; maternal uncle and aunt, Dennis and Gina Hoffman of Lawrence, KS; maternal aunt, Kay Barnes of Dodge City, KS.
