Gregory R. Bordewick , 56, passed away on Tuesday, March
22, 2022 at his home in Garden City. He was born on April 12, 1965 at
Lancaster, California the son of John L. & Karen S. (McComb)
Bordewick.
Greg graduated from Stanton County High School in Johnson with the Class
of 1983. He attended Seward County Community College and graduated
from Wichita State University with his Bachelor Degree in Organismal
Biology with a minor in Ecology. He went to work for Dr. Pepper in
Wichita before moving to Garden City where he became a Zoo Keeper at Lee
Richardson Zoo for 18 years. At present, he was a truck driver for
Huber Sand Company. He enjoyed reading about history, politics and was
devoted to taking care of animals.
He is survived by his Children- Ryan Bordweick of Wichita and Megan
Bordewick of Manhattan, Parents- Karen Bordewick of Garden City and John
Bordewick of Clyde park, Montana, Siblings- Todd Bordewick and Lance
Bordewick both of Garden City, Sonja Zook of Butte, Montana and Danelle
Adair of Carmel, Indiana and 8 Nieces and Nephews.
Memorial services to be held will be private. Memorials are suggested
to Friends Of Lee Richardson Zoo in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
