– The Hays Larks overcame an early five-run deficit and beat Oklahoma City 12-8 Friday night at Larks Park. The Larks have now won a season-best nine straight and improve to 21-4.
After both teams scored two in the first, the Generals tallied five in the second to build a 7-2 lead. THE Larks answered with two in the fourth then grabbed the lead for good with six in the fifth.
All six of their runs in the fifth game with two outs. After Cortland Lawson scored on passed ball, Tyler Palmer and Cam Pehrson both had RBI singles. Pehrson later stole home then pinch runner Leo Jiminian scored on a passed ball.
Sam Crowell homered in a two-run eighth.
Pehrson and Brady Evans both had three hits. Pehrson tripled and Evans doubled. Grant Schmidt both drove in two runs.
Trevor Munsch (1-0) pitched four innings of scoreless relief and picked up the win. Munsch allowed two hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Cade Brown pitched the final two innings and struck out six for his first save.
MILITARY APPRECIATON
Saturday is Military Appreciation Night. All are current and former members of the military are invited to attend and be honored during a ceremony before the start of the game.
