HHS girl's golf wins own tournament

HAYS - The Hays High girls' golf team opened their season with a convincing win on the home course, taking their own invitational by 36 strokes Monday afternoon at the Smoky Hill Country Club.

The Indians shot a 335. Salina South finished second with a 371 and Dodge City third with a 377. TMP-Marian placed sixth with a 403.

The Indians placed four in the top ten led by Taleia McCrae who won the individual title with an 80. Sophia Garrison finished fifth with an 84. Abbie Norris also fired an 84 and finished sixth. Katie Dinkel shot an 87 and placed ninth.

Grace Wente played on the Indians JV team and placed 10th with an 89.

TMP-Marian had two finish in the top-20. Ella Brummer shot a 96 and finished 17th. Allison Applequist fired a 97 and finished 19th.
