THOMAS COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 3:30a.m. Tuesday in Thomas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Freightliner semi driven by Alberto Garcia, 45, North Lauderdale, FL., was westbound on Interstate 70 at Thomas County Road K.
The semi entered the median on the left. The driver tried to re-enter the roadway. The semi overturned onto the drivers side and came to rest in the median facing north west.
Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Baalmann Morturary in Colby. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
