David L. Krayca, age 66, of Goodland passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Goodland Regional Medical Center.
David was born to James and Anna (Hradecky) Krayca in Sterling, Colorado
on December 4, 1954. He married Sondra Krueger on June 9, 1974, in
Goodland. The couple made their home in Goodland. Several years were
spent in Hays and Russell with their return to Goodland in 1987. To this
union, two children were born: Dustin and Matthew.
David worked as a Deputy Sheriff at the Sherman County Sheriff
Department as a Deputy Sheriff. Notably during his career there he
delivered a baby at a local residence. He also worked in construction
and in the oilfield. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, TV and
spending time with his family and friends. He attended VoTech after
high school in Goodland and studied Drafting there. He enjoyed drafting
architectural plans which were used for some construction in the area
and he used this skill and talent drawing up accident scenes as a
Deputy. Growing up on the family farm was a fond memory he spoke of
frequently.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Richard, Wayne and
James; son, Matthew; sister-in-laws, Stephanie Krueger and Eileen
Krayca.
He is survived by his wife, Sondra; son, Dustin of Goodland; brother,
Ken (Glenda) Kraysha of Townsend, GA; sister Betty (Don) Engel of
Russell, KS; granddaughter, Helaina Krayca of Sharon Springs, KS; and
many more family and friends.
