The Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors recently introduced Tammy Wellbrock as the part-time interim president/CEO of the chamber.

In August, she was also named the part-time interim president/CEO of the Colby/Thomas County Chamber of Commerce and will do both positions simultaneously, working both on-site and remote as needed. Most recently, Wellbrock served as interim executive director for the Fort Hays State University Alumni Association and was president/CEO for the Hays Chamber of Commerce from 2011 to 2019.

“Many professionals who remain in the chamber industry do so by changing communities,” Wellbrock said. “Moving is not an option for me, so these temporary positions are a great opportunity to work in a field I find rewarding and meaningful. I’m thankful my interim title at the FHSU Alumni Association mixed with my chamber experience helped open these doors for me.”

Wellbrock will be providing services to each Chamber and community for an indefinite time. In Colby, the permanent president/CEO is on extended family leave, while the Pratt chamber wanted to use Wellbrock’s experience in helping strengthen the organization’s foundation before launching a search for a full-time replacement. Her chamber experience will be instrumental in maintaining member relationships and necessary reorganization during this transition.

“Just like Hays, each of these cities offers unique attractions and shopping experiences and are filled with amazing citizens motivated by a strong sense of loyalty, work ethic and community pride,” she said.

In addition to these roles, Wellbrock will continue with Girl Twin Solutions, the business she launched in 2019 that provides an array of services to individuals or businesses seeking professional coaching, training, and strategic planning. She is also serving as president of the USD 489 Board of Education since July.
