After a pleasant Friday with a high temperature of 85 projected, the National Weather Service is calling for the mercury to shoot up well into next week.
A high of 94 is predicted Saturday, increasing to 99 on Sunday. Monday's predicted high is 102, with Tuesday expected to top out at 97.
A front bringing a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms will cool things off a bit Tuesday night, with Wednesday's projected high dropping to 85.
Overnight, Hays received just less than a quarter-inch of rain.
