Roger N. Brown

Roger N. Brown, 60, Walker, died Saturday, May 1, 2021, at HaysMed.

He was born July 15, 1960, in Russell, the son of Richard and Bertha (Windholz) Brown.  He attended Victoria High School.  On September 22, 1979, he was united in marriage to Karen Hoffman in Vincent.  They later separated.  He worked in the oilfield, owned Brown’s Fish Farm, and worked for Russell County doing road maintenance.  He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding UTVs, and being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his two sons: Chad Brown and wife Amanda of Hays and Clint Brown of Gorham, two brothers: Richard Brown, Jr. and Rodney Brown and wife Michelle all of Gorham, three sisters: Colene Schmitt and husband J.W. of Gorham, Jolene Purvis and husband Joe of Lubbock, TX, and Galene Steckel of Russell, three grandchildren: Trayson, Lincoln, and Lilly Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at The Basilica of St. Fidelis Church with Fr. James Moster, OFM Cap. officiating.  Inurnment will follow in St. Fidelis Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Tuesday and from 1:00 pm until service time on Wednesday, all at the Basilica.
