BELLEVILLE – The TMP-Marian Monarchs won their first match but lost in the semifinals of Saturday’s Republic County 2A regional volleyball tournament.
The fourth-seeded Monarchs defeated Lincoln (25-11, 25-14) then lost the top-seeded Lady Red (25-8, 25-14).
Smith Center defeated Bennington (25-11, 25-13) to win the regional and advance to the 2A state tournament at United Wireless Arena in Dodge City.
The Monarchs end their season at 16-18.
